Andros Bonefishing Sites
Fishing Sites
All of the fishing sites on Andros, in addition to offering you some world-class fishing, provide several opportunities to see some of the amazing aquatic life and endemic and migrant birds for which Andros is known. Many of our fishermen see dolphins, turtles and sharks while on the boats. Some have even spotted sawfish. All different types of herons are frequently seen in the mangroves along the waterways as are cuckoos, ibis, and spoonbills. But best of all, no-one around!
Joulters
White, sandy bottom, with beautiful blue water. There is a nearby cay with deep channels passing between with lots of fish to be found and good all year round fishing although preferable on calm days or with winds from east, east-southeast, or south. Ideal for wading
Flats
All ocean flats are white, sandy flats. Preferable with the incoming tide when the feeding is more aggressive.
Red Bays
On the west side of Andros. Good for creek fishing. A great place to go when there are strong winds from the east. Good place to see some snappers too.
North and South Bights
Soft-bottom flats, lots of Bonefish, great fishing all year round, popular place for Bonefishermen on Andros.
West Side
Lots of inland creeks, big fish, the possibility of seeing lots of Tarpon (fingers crossed) or Permit, good all year round. A great place to escape from some eastern wind.
Fresh Creek
Great year round, with all the winding waterways and channels it is a good place to fish because there are places to block the wind on windy days. One of the few places you have the possibility of finding Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit! Mixed variety of fish, great year round. Best fishing at the incoming tide, and very close to Small Hope Bay.
